An International scientific conference «A Man and Society of the 21st century. Ideas and Ideals», Kursk, 13-14 of October, 2006

Within the ongoing project “The International Symposium: The Way, the truth and the life” an international scientific conference « A Man and Society of the 21st century. Ideas and Ideals» was held during the days of the 13th and the 14th of October. The conference was organized by the Scientific Biblical center “APOLOGET” and the University of Management, Economy and Business (Kursk). The Conference was held on the campus of the University of Management, Economy and Business (Kursk, Raditsheva str. 35). It was the logical outcome after the conference «Challenge of Postmodernism: Is there a proper answer? » which was held in our city last year.
The theme of the conference was covered in light of the problems in theology, philosophy, ethics, medicine, psychology, pedagogy, sociology and culture.
Prepared presentations were given and discussed on the plenary section and in separate sections. Four sections included: philosophy and religion; medicine and psychology; ethics and culture; sociology and pedagogic.
Presentations were given by the teachers and professors of the Kursk universities: Kursk State University, Kursk State Medical University, Kursk State Technical University, Agricultural Academy, State Social University (Kursk campus), Kursk Medical Institute, Regional open social institute, Kursk campus of the Orel Law Institute, Kursk University of Management, Economy and Business, and also from the Kursk office of the Russian Orthodox church, Churches of Evangelical Christians-Baptists.
The conference was opened by the rector of the Kursk University of Management, Economy and Business Galina Okorokova, the Candidate of economy science and the head of the Kursk regional public organization “KNOWLEDGE”. The regional government was represented by the head of religion and nationality department Alexander Shapovalov. The city government was represented by the consultant of the organizational department Tatiana Mikhina.
At the conference there spoke the representatives from different cities such as Kursk, Moscow, Samara, Arkhangelsk, Tambov, Korolyov, Kiev, Simferopol, Kharkov, Kampene (Holland) and Namp (the USA).
