Biblical Center «The Apologist» and the University of Management, Economy
and Business (Kursk) held an International Scientific Conference “Time
and eternity in science, religion and culture” within the framework of
the ongoing International Symposium “The Way, the Truth and the Life».
Its main theme was suggested by the previous conferences «Challenge of
Postmodernism: Is there a proper answer?” and «A Man and Society of
the 21st century. Ideas and Ideals» held in the city of Kursk in
2005-2006. - The University of Management, Economy and Business (Kursk) welcomed participants and guests from the cities of Kursk, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Belgorod, Tambov, Smolensk, Kiev, Simferopol, Kharkov, Poltava, San Diego (USA). Speakers with scientific degrees in the areas of philosophy, philology, pedagogy, sociology, medicine, psychology, biology, history, economy, physics, arts, geography, technology, agriculture, theology, and also students and postgraduate students presented a broad range of opinions on issues which bother modern society.
- Prepared presentations
were given and discussed on the plenary section and in separate sections.
Four sections included: philosophy and religion; medicine and psychology;
ethics and culture; sociology and pedagogic.
- Presentations were given by the teachers and professors of different universities, including the Kursk universities: Kursk State University, Kursk State Medical University, Kursk State Technical University, State Social University (Kursk campus), Kursk Medical Institute, Regional open social institute, Kursk University of Management, Economy and Business.
- The conference was opened by Okorokov Vladimir, who is the vice-president of the Kursk University of Management, Economy and Business.
- The participants of the Conference were greeted by the Kursk city mayor Viktor Surzhikov and Regional government representative Aleksandr Shapovalov from the Department of Interaction with political parties and social organizations.
- More than sixty speakers participated with presentations in this conference.
- Among them were:
- Vladislav Olkhovsky, PhD in Physics and Mathematics (in the area of nuclear physic), professor, the head of nuclear analysis laboratory of the Nuclear Research Institute of the Ukrainian Academy of Science, the active member of Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti (Messina, Italy), Accademia Gioenia delle Scienze Naturali (Catania, Italy), New-York Academy of Sciences (New York, USA). Included in the encyclopedia «Who is Who in the World».
